250th Anniversary Celebration

July 4, 2011, will mark the 250th Anniversary
of Enfield's founding
with the signing of the Middle Grant Charter.
Under the Direction of the Town officials, an Enfield
250th Anniversary Steering Committee has been formed to
coordinate plans for a town-wide celebration honoring this
milestone event. Meredith Smith, Chair of the Enfield
Heritage Commission and Dolores Struckhoff, Executive
Director of the Enfield Village Association will co-chair the
Committee.
They are currently gathering volunteers and reviewing
ideas for events.
These include: Lobster dinner, 250th anniversary play,
pancake breakfast, Lockhaven Schoolhouse reenactment, selfguided
historic house and site tour, street dance, concert featuring
local musicians, boat parades on Mascoma and Crystal
Lakes, field day featuring old fashioned games and activities,
patriotic sing-a-long, fireworks, and a parade followed by a
picnic in Huse Park.
